Commissioning a Painting

I am aware that commissioning a portrait is a very important matter for any potential client.  Whether as a Boardroom portrait or a treasured family heirloom, it will last for generations to come.

I believe that it is crucial to spend time with the client, discussing their requirements and ideas before producing a series of sketches for approval.  At this stage, the painting medium and price of the unframed work are also agreed.  Framing requirements and cost can be discussed separately if desired.

Although I prefer to work from life, I am conscious that it is not always possible given the busy lives people lead.  I am therefore happy to work from additional photographs if necessary, to reduce the number of sittings.
